1 stopover, 2 transits, 3 planes, 4 flights, 5 cities. After 24 hours, I’m finally in the Land of the Egg Tarts! By the way, in Portugal, the authentic way to enjoy egg tarts is to sprinkle cinnamon powder or powdered sugar over them.
Trivia from Wikipedia: The Portuguese egg tart was created more than 200 years ago by Catholic Sisters at Jeronomis Monastery at Belem in Lisbon. Casa Pasteis de Belem was the first pastry shop outside of the convent to sell this pastry in 1837. It is ranked #6 of 1,443 restaurants in Lisbon (on tripadvisor) and undisputedly, the must-go-to place in Portugal for egg tarts! And guess what? My new place is a 15-min drive away
Just a short post for now. I’ll blog more after I’m done with furnishing the apartment and unpacking. Meanwhile, my dear friends in Singapore, please take good care of yourselves especially with the hazy conditions. I was totally shocked to learn that PSI hit the critical 400 level. Praying for a heavy downpour soon!
